Hobby ONTOUR takes first place in the promobil & caravaning 2026 readers’ choice awards

A major success for Hobby: the Hobby ONTOUR caravan has received top honours in the readers’ choice awards run by the leading caravan magazines promobil and CARAVANING. In the “Lower Mid-Range” category, it secured first place with 35.8% of the votes. With its well-thought-out layout, this compact caravan appeals to campers with a wide range of requirements – and thanks to the standard “HobbyKomplett” ALL-INCLUSIVE package, it’s ready to hit the road straight away. The official award ceremony took place at the CMT holiday exhibition in Stuttgart.

The annual readers’ choice awards are organised by the editorial teams at promobil and CARAVANING, two of the most widely read camping magazines in the DACH region. The award ceremony at CMT Stuttgart brings together both trade press and numerous well-known representatives from across the caravanning industry. This accolade holds particular value, as the rankings are determined solely by the votes of the magazines’ readers.

Maximum flexibility and generous equipment packages

With its ONTOUR 390 SF and ONTOUR 460 DL models, the Hobby ONTOUR has been one of Hobby’s most popular caravans for decades. Its compact size and comparatively low weight ensure a high degree of flexibility and particularly smooth towing behaviour. The model range is also ideally suited for electric towing vehicles. The ONTOUR 390 SF has a mass in running order of 1,063 kg and a body length of 4,602 mm. For the ONTOUR 460 DL, the mass in running order is 1,225 kg with a body length of 5,430 mm. The overall width of both models is 2,200 mm.

Both layouts combine a highly functional and comfortable interior design. Up to four people can sleep in the caravan when the bed conversion in the spacious seating area is used. With its central side kitchen and compact washroom, the caravan offers all the creature comforts of a fully equipped home on wheels. Clever storage solutions keep the living space tidy and comfortable – making the ONTOUR the ideal travel companion for couples and families alike.

As with all Hobby models, the “HobbyKomplett” ALL-INCLUSIVE package comes as standard and is included in the base price. It provides all the essential features for immediate travel – supplied ex-works, so you can set off on holiday straight away. These include a 98-litre DOMETIC refrigerator with 12-litre freezer compartment, a 3-burner hob, a kitchen splashback with integrated lighting, 230 V power sockets and a USB charging socket. You’ll also find multiple wall units with soft-close locker doors, a wardrobe with interior lighting, and dimmable reading lights in both the seating and sleeping areas. Additional features include several DOMETIC SEITZ rooflights, pleated blinds and fly screens for all windows, a TRUMA heating system, a gas locker suitable for two 11 kg bottles, fresh water and waste water tanks, as well as an LED awning light.
